Beethoven: King Stephan, Op. 117: Overture (From During the Rule of Stephan I of Hungary)-Budapest Symphony Orchestra/Oberfrank Géza
《斯蒂芬王，作品117》采用的是自由的奏鸣曲式。音乐一开始，乐队奏出了四个长音，但马上就被带有强烈东方色彩的木管旋律接了过去。这段木管旋律来得有些突然，也使音乐带上了些轻快幽默的色彩。这就是音乐的引子部分。随后乐队奏出了一个带有匈牙利舞曲特色的主部主题。它抑扬顿挫的重音和其中蕴涵的力度随之得到了发展。由木管乐器奏出了副部主题。这是一支复调旋律——上边是轻快的小舞曲，接下来是规矩大方的正步舞蹈。直接接上了音乐开头的引子部分。这可以看作是奏鸣曲式的发展部。但由于它过于短小简练，音乐没有什么新发展，因此也可以看作是这部作品省略了发展部，只是用这段音乐作为呈示部与再现部的连接段。接着是再现部的开始。最后开始尾声。这时开头引子部分的单簧管又出现了，随后贝多芬将引子主题、主部主题、副部主题的两支旋律等统统糅合在一起，形成辉煌的高潮。这种将从前出现的所有音乐动机糅合在一起的技巧，后来在德沃夏克的《第九交响曲“自新大陆”》的末乐章和我国的《钢琴协奏曲“黄河”》中也曾用过。
