Piano Sonata No. 14 In E Major, Op. 27, Ii. Allegretto-The Yuletide Players
第二乐章，3/4拍子，三段体。与第一乐章同为三段体，而非奏鸣曲中常备的小步舞曲、或是诙谐曲。李斯特曾经形容这个乐章是“两个深渊里的一朵花”，这段话不禁令人想到贝多芬的第4号交响曲，舒曼也称许它为“两位北欧巨人间(第3、5号)的娇柔美女”。第二乐章虽是三拍子，但贝多芬巧妙地运用音符强弱与长度的对比，让旋律听来具有行进的味道切合行板的表情速度。第二乐章最难以诠释之处在，它必须承接第一乐章的隐讳与第三乐章的激进，因此其中间色调的拿捏相当重要，过于接近第一乐章的情绪不仅全曲显得沉重，而且失去作品形式的平衡感。过于接近第三乐章的情绪，则让音乐显得轻佻而且冲淡了第三乐章的爆发力。
