line them up and hope to shoot them down when they’re hit it’s me that hits the ground I can’t sleep my head is aching I can’t speak my tongue is failing I can’t breathe I’m suffocating that’s just me and so I wear my worries on my sleeve like a badge of pride and I can’t get to sleep at night future’s size near bursts my tired mind I am paralysed heart has lost all reason I can hear it beating how I hate this feeling lungs have lost all rhythm there’s a panic in them wouldn’t call this breathing this my safeguard, keeping me from hurting all those I love, guiding my decisions keeping cautious, I’m a better person for them I know, so I wear my crippling worries on my sleeve like a badge of pride and I can’t get to sleep at night who would I even be without my anxiety?
