SQ《两个犹太人》原是哈尔德曼的两幅人物写生画。一个富有、肥胖、傲气凌人，一个贫穷、瘦弱、垂头丧气。穆索尔斯基创造性的将他们合二为一，突出表现他们之间的体貌、个性的强烈反差，显示了社会意义更加深刻。前8小节，作曲家用干涩的音调和怪异的节奏，其音乐语言运用带有增二度音程的旋律、间歇的节奏、强烈的音响和突出的重音，入木三分的勾勒出富人的形象。演奏时要求六十四分音符左、右手的统一。9至14小节，作曲家又运用夹带装饰音的同音反复和半音下行的音调轮廓，描绘了一个一直不听打哆嗦、哀求富人的穷犹太人。右手带前倚音的三连音可做四个十六分音符处理。从第15小节到结尾，作者又一次运用他的创造天赋，用对位手法将前两者叠置到一起，左手是富人，右手是穷人，使他们的反差更明显，矛盾更突出。最后显然是富人占了上风，神气十足的把穷人赶走了。
