E小调、2/4拍、回旋曲式。钢琴弹奏四小节同音反复作引子,带出回旋曲的主题。反复一遍后，引子重现，引出第一插部，转成了C大调，旋律非常活泼。开始用颤音手法弱起，然后顺音阶向上冲击，力度也随之加强。旋律进行中，还不时在弱奏中出现几声突发的强音。这岂不是凶恶的女妖在向小精灵们挥舞鞭子？主题再现，引出第二插部。它又转回到B小调。旋律进行中，十度双弦演奏、双泛音、顿音以及拉奏与拨奏相结合的技巧，令人眼花缭乱。接下去，乐曲转B大调。这里，旋律中出现一系列八度大跳，使乐曲谐谑性更强了。第二插部之后，回旋曲主题第三次再现。在结尾前，出现一小段华彩段，再次让小提琴表演各种高难度技巧，把乐曲推向高潮后，结束全曲。
