苏联少先队员彼得住在森林边的爷爷家里。一天，彼得跑进森林玩耍，忘记关上花园的小门。住在花园里的鸭子乘机溜去附近的池塘里游泳。在池塘里鸭子和小鸟斗起嘴来（“不能 飞的鸟儿算是什么鸟儿？”—“不会游泳的鸟儿又是哪般鸟儿？”）。彼得的猫跟出来要捉他们，小鸟听到彼得的警告飞上了树梢，鸭子游进了池塘中央。 爷爷出来骂彼得说:“外面很危险,要是野狼出现怎么办?”爷爷拉着比得回家。 结果野狼真的出现了,它一口就把鸭子活生生的吞下去,猫和小鸟在树上一动也不动的害怕野狼。这时爷爷已睡着,彼得就拿出绳子,请小鸟在野狼的头上飞,趁机 绑住野狼,这时猎人经过,把野狼送去动物园,可是鸭子还在野狼的肚子里哀嚎求救呢!.
