第二幕，帕帕盖诺在到处寻找被带走的帕帕盖娜。他着急地唱着：“帕帕盖娜，帕帕盖娜，可爱的女人，小鸽子，我的爱人，你在那里？啊，帕帕盖娜不见了，只怪我爱讲话。恋爱过一次的人，是永远忘不了那滋味的。”由于始终找不到爱人，他就拿起一条绳子准备上吊。可是由于四周围看不到能救他的人，就打消了自杀的念头。他又数一次一、二、三，依然没有人出现，他无可奈何，终于把活结套在脖子上。这时三个童子出现了，提醒他使用银铃。帕帕盖诺立刻边摇边唱：“大声响吧银铃，响彻每个角落。”果然帕帕盖娜随即出现。两人深情地拥抱在一起，唱出一段轻快的二重唱。帕帕盖诺：“帕、帕、帕、帕、帕帕盖娜！” 帕帕盖娜：“帕、帕，帕、帕、帕帕盖诺！”他们边跳边说：“如果生下一大群儿女，该多么有趣。先是小帕帕盖诺，接着是小帕帕盖娜，小帕帕盖诺，小帕帕盖娜……”唱后两人手拉手退下。这是一段无比优美的音乐，所有欢笑与眼泪都升华成“人类爱”，是《魔笛》中很动人的场面。
