[01:19.47]So after he'd find out that mama couldn't understand him, [01:22.30]And he couldn't understand the way his mama was doin' him, [01:25.36]He packed up his little flower sack, and he decide that he would leave. [01:29.83]So when he left, on his way, [01:31.51]He run up on a old rollin' mill, [01:33.89]What they call Mister Charlie's. [01:35.64]So he walked up to mister Charlie, [01:39.45]Mister Charlie was workin' round in his rose bushes 'n things... so he taps him: "mi-mi-mi..." say "Mister!" But he didn't know his name that time. [01:51.70]The man straightened up and said "my name is mister Charlie". [01:53.15]He say "mi-mi-ch-ch-ch-ch-" He said "but boy I ain't got to fool with you, you can't work." [01:56.26]He said, "me-me can work!" [01:57.58]So the man went on workin' and he'd tap him again. He said "look, [02:02.36]Boy, I've got a old bunk house out in the back, [02:05.05]" said "and if you promise me that you will stay in this bunk house, [02:07.57]And watch my mill, and keep the fire from burning my mill down, [02:09.76]" say "I live two blocks up the road, [02:11.81]" say "and if you see the mill's on fire, [02:14.58]Say you run up and tell me the mill's on fire, [02:17.39]You got a home and meal as long as I've got it." [02:20.26]"Ta-ta-ta-ta-thank you mister Charlie. [02:21.26]" So the little old boy went to bunkin' that night. [02:25.07]Sho' enough, late one Sunday morning, [02:27.98]Mister Charlie's mill caught on fire. [02:29.61]Which he'd forgot about what he had told the little boy. [03:11.07]So mister Charlie stooped over him again, [03:12.85]He pat him on the back, said "ye-ye-ye-ye-your ro-ro-" [03:16.59]He said "Wait a minute."
