SQ作品为复三部曲式结构。乐曲开始有十六小节的引子,其前四小节是引子音乐的基本素材。紧接着将音域提高小二度变化重复一次,情绪开始高涨,随之再不断提高音域,并连续出现两次,使情绪十分激昂。第一部分,三部曲式。第一段十六小节一气呵成,第一乐句前四小节是全段音乐的基本素材,具有坚韧不拔的性格,经提高小二度变化重复后,第二乐句由低向高盘旋发展,在快速自由节奏的上行音节后结束于属七和弦。第一段移高八度变化重复后结束于主和弦。第二段f小调,由两个八小节的乐句构成,第一乐句前四小节音乐的律动性十分强烈,给人以振奋的感受。通过向上移位模仿,变化重复,构成第一乐句的后四小节。第二乐句八小节,音乐旋律深沉,这个旋律在提高八度变化重复后结束第二段。第三段为第一段在高音区上的再现。乐曲的中间部分相当庞大。为不带再现部的单三部曲式结构。第一段转入E大调,有四小节的引子,连续六个四分音符的柱式主和弦后,进入两小节模仿马蹄音响的八度节奏音型,这个音型贯穿在整个第三段的伴奏中,其主旋律像进军号般地雄壮有力。第二段转入f小调,这里伴奏音型全部是后十六分节奏,动力性较强,而旋律则较富于歌唱性,与第一段形成对比。第三段旋律几乎全是十六分音符构成的音阶或琶音相间的曲调,开始在G大调上出现,其调性虽然频繁转换,但音调却清晰淡雅,流畅动听,体现了肖邦所特有的抒情韵味。再现部只将第一部分中提高了八度的第一段进行变化再现,而省略了其他部分,从而更加突出了刚劲有力、不屈不挠的战斗精神和雄伟气魄。结尾部分以引子音乐中的主要乐思和第一部分中的开始动机为素材发展构成。这两个素材先后重复发展出现,尤其第二个素材动机的连续相接,再一次将音乐推向高潮。最后在急促的节奏中以八个扣人心弦的和弦有力地结束全曲。
