第三幕，特里斯坦的仆人库尔文纳将特里斯坦带到布列塔尼自己先辈留下来的半破落的城堡中，让后者养伤。特里斯坦虽然已神志不清，但仍在等待伊索尔德的到来。 最后船出现在地平线上，特里斯坦在伊索尔德的怀中死去。这时出现了第二艘船，库尔文纳认为是敌人到来，便关上了门。这其实是马克国王，他想成全两人。库尔文纳拒绝让他们进入。双方开始打斗，结果库尔文纳和梅洛特伤重死亡。马克国王看到特里斯坦已死，十分惊愕。伊索尔德在特里斯坦旁边唱尽一曲《爱中死》后悄然逝去。
