A Night On The Bare Mountain (荒山之夜)-The New Symphony Orchestra Of London/Sir Alexander Gibson
SQ乐曲开始由第一、第二小提琴引领弦乐组以极低的音量演奏的急速三连音，起初声音微弱随后迅速提高，在弦乐飞速的行进后，木管、铜管乐器组先后加入，不协和的小二、增四、大七度以及复音程等多次出现，勾画出荒山之巅群魔乱舞的疯狂场景。群魔的出场是为黑暗之王“车尔诺包格”现身所做的铺垫，长号与大号在低音声部的齐奏演绎出威严而低沉的旋律。这是一个具有宣叙调一样悠长的旋律线条。在这一旋律出现后，马上出现乐队齐奏，并升高半音模仿前段旋律，增强了音乐的戏剧性。乐曲逐渐加强力度，并在原本快板的速度上又加快了一些，整首乐曲到达激烈的高潮，狂欢进入了癫狂的阶段，仿佛一个个幽灵在空中飞舞、骑着扫帚的女巫呼啸而过……突然，远处传来微弱而清脆的钟声，天已渐渐破晓，牧歌一样的旋律预示着熟睡的农民已经苏醒，这段纯朴的旋律与前面戏剧性的音乐形成鲜明的对比，再也听不到狂欢的喧闹，群妖悄悄溜走，乐曲也在这样的平静安宁中结束。
