Fantasy (And Fugue) In C Minor, BWV 906-Glenn Gould
SQ幻想曲从16世纪的意大利开始时兴。一开始是一种严格按经文歌进行模仿，用对位方式模仿声部效果的器乐曲，分为几个段落，往往具有一个共同主题。巴赫的幻想曲，已是一种即兴与自由的创作，追求的是一种自由与赋格的严整对比的效果。赋格则是一种用对位法严格创作的体裁，有特定的声部数量(比如三声部、四声部……)。赋格的主要特点是以声部之间互相模仿的方式来产生交错和重叠的效果，调的对置是赋格结构的一个重要因素，第一个声部进入所用的短的旋律或乐句称为主题，声部之间对这个主题的互为模仿进入，完成呈示部。呈示部中主题第一次出现在自然调，第二个声部进入时高一个5度或降一个4度，这样的声部成为答题。第二声部的进入是主题的重复，高一个8度或低一个8度。依此类推，按参与声部的数量、主题与答题、主调与属调交替下去。再通过插句转到关系调，产生转调声部，体现变化。
