《金鱼》这是第二集最后的一首作品，标题有多种释意，如水缸中的金鱼，或中国式漆具上的金鱼。它们的来源可能出自一幅东方的刺绣，或是日本的印刷品。总之，不管它们属于何种出处的金鱼，而德彪西带着它们在他最通俗之一的作品中过着冲击、浮游的生活。鼓动着的鱼鳍和潺潺的流水都是用丰满的颤音与震音来表示的，并且以精致的华彩做为结束。但全部并不都是经过装潢、平和的。水缸里隐藏着鱼世界的专横，如第64小节似乎在低音部以八度进行来预示不祥之兆。这首作品还从另一个侧面表现了德彪西的托卡塔风格，它已不是图画式的表现手法，而是一种寻求技巧的研究。大多是自然音阶或相近似，同时在有规律的移动中掺杂着和谐的水声，表现出鱼群在十分有限制的活动范围内游来游去的情景。
