Concerto for Flute and Orchestra - II. Andante sostenuto (第二乐章 绵延的行板)-James Galway
第二乐章，一开始由低音管奏出低沉的曲调，懒散地展开乐章，音乐忧郁而惆怅；随后长笛用带有似断非断的连弓奏出一首夜曲式的诱人的慢速圆舞曲主题，令人沉浸在无边的遐想之中。之后单簧管、弦乐的加入，使音乐织体逐渐扩展，音响逐渐丰满起来。一段感情真挚的旋律，热情的倾诉替代了抒情的沉思，整个乐章前半段都笼罩在这种迷幻般的旋律中，到乐章中间突如其来不和谐地的渐强，但旋即又恢复原本迷幻的气氛，之后又再度以相同手法处理一次，不过这突如其来的中断渐强却逐渐地放大，而再度覆归平静之后，紧接着就进入第三乐章。
