第二乐章为浪漫曲 - 行板(Romance - Andante)。在富于表情的第二乐章G大调浪漫曲中，尽管“神秘”的中间部看似是后来加在这首协奏曲中的，但仍然可以看出这一乐章是根据那首为《风流世家》(Anthony Adverse，1936年)所作的奥斯卡获奖配乐改编而来。序曲之后，小提琴独奏几乎没有停止过，音符流畅无比地流泻于电颤琴、竖琴和钢片琴奏出的管弦乐之上。在速度稍慢的中段,独奏小提琴有一段加弱音器的旋律十分动人。
