第四幕：美丽的月光投射在比那沃斯河畔。水精与众神在河水中一同嬉戏，河上浮游着一只银色珍珠船，上面躺着海伦和潘达丽丝，远处传来竖琴悦耳的声音，海伦与潘达丽丝一同唱优美的二重唱《月儿静止，大气饱满》。当浮士德和魔鬼出现时，海伦的珍珠船却神秘地消失了，梅菲斯·托费勒在这里已经不再能主宰一切了。他在唱完《这是古典的萨巴之夜》之后就一同欣赏着体态优美的水妖。这时水妖们开始跳起了轻快优美的轮舞，梅菲斯·托费勒却困惑的离去，这时海伦又登场。水妖们看到海伦来了，立即唱出歌颂她的合唱。但海伦认为特洛伊城因为自己而陷落，所以一直闷闷不乐。她根本没把水妖们的颂赞听进耳朵里。这时穿着骑士装的浮士德上台，梅菲斯·托费勒、奈雷欧、潘达丽丝，以及小牧童与水妖们也陆续的出现。水妖们唱着颂赞海伦的歌曲《清丽而理想的容姿》大家也加入合唱。浮士德的甜言蜜语弄得海伦如醉如痴，她把特洛伊城因为自己而陷落的故事讲给浮士德听。浮士德热烈地向她求爱，两人很快陶醉在爱情中，他们一起唱着《爱的二重唱《啊!神秘的爱!》。
