Doug Pitts

Doug Pitts has been playing guitar and composing in the vein noted above since the early 70's. From '73 to '75 he travelled quite a bit around the country, sometimes working as a "street" musician. He settled in Columbus, Ohio from '75 to '80, playing in some clubs and events around the OSU campus. He met and befriended Lee Braun, who became an occaisional collaborator in songwriting (and who co-wrote several pieces on "Edgewise"). Due to an extended illness, Doug had to semi-retire from 80-85, but since then has been back and writing more than ever (material since '85 fills 24 cd's). He now lives near the New Market, Md. area with his wife and 2 daughters and works as a staff person at Way, Station (an organization that helps adults with mental illness work toward independence).He is currently seeking a songwriting and/or recording contract.
