Lisa Hindmarsh歌手简介
b. 6 November 1962, Brownsville, Pennsylvania, USA. Her father, Barry Hindmarsh, played Hammond B-3 in the Pittsburgh area and thanks to this, and his record collection, Lisa was surrounded by music from a very early age. She began classical voice training at the age of 13 but many of her early musical influences were contemporary pop with jazz and Latin undertones. She began her professional career in 1978, singing with the Pittsburgh band, Sound Judgment, and in the early 80s was a member of the Cleveland duo, Two Hot. Hindmarsh studied extensively, graduating with honours as a Bachelor of Music in Voice, at West Virginia University, and as a Master of Music in Voice at Marshall University. Upon her return to Pittsburgh, she became established as a soloist with various choral groups and at several churches in the city. In 1993, Hindmarsh became a member of a cappella quintet, InVoice, an association that continued until 2001. Her debut solo recording, Now I Know, had been released the previous year. In the early 00s, Hindmarsh continued to sing church music, notably as soloist at Pittsburgh’s Westminster Presbyterian Church, and as both singer and keyboard player with various local groups, including Grappa, with whom she recorded in 2003. Her self-produced Lost In A Summer Night, which like its predecessor appeared on her own Orchard Records, received considerable critical and popular acclaim. Technically accomplished, Hindmarsh’s wide-ranging repertoire is replete with examples of her ability to establish an emotional bond with audiences. collapse
