Six charming Americans and an instantly magnetic vocalist from England team to form a rock ‘n’ roll band that puts a modern twist on 60s Britpop. The Idyllists are the sound of Johnny Cash meeting Morrissey for a drink at a Buddy Holly show. Released in 2009, the debut album from the Idyllists, entitled THE LONG HOURS BETWEEN SUNSET & MORNING, was produced by the band and David Cobb (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Shooter Jennings, Rock N Roll Soldiers) and recorded in their hometown of Los Angeles, CA with Greg Gordon (The Thrills, Hot Hot Heat, Supergrass, Oasis). Their introductory double A-side single received airplay on independent and rock radio in cities across the USA, most notably by tastemaker Rodney Bingenheimer, where the song “Great Love Story” has become a regular feature on his Rodney On The Rock KROQ radio show. The band has shared stages with the likes of the Subways, the Helio Sequence, the Cinematics, IAMX, Andry Rourke of the Smiths, and the New York Dolls.
