Thyreos is a Swedish heavy metal band from Degerfors, Sweden, formed
in 2001. The band was founded by singer and bass player Fredrik
Nordin, who at the beginning only did the vocals. In 2003, when Erik
Palmqvist joined as a keyboard player Fredrik also played the drums.
In 2007 Henrik S Johansson joined the band and took over as a drummer.
Before that Henrik played in a metalband called Disentropy.
That same year Thyreos released their official MySpace page and the
demo Words Of Evil, containing the tracks Words Of Evil and Me
and Myself. The demo was produced by Ronny Milianowicz and it was
recorded in Studio Seven.
In 2008 guitarist Daniel Birath joined the band which was a great
success because Thyreos was in a need of a powerful solo guitarist.
Later that year the band began the recording of their debut album
Sound Of Destruction, once again in Studio Seven. The album was
produced and mixed by Ronny Milianowicz and mastered by Jens Bogren.
Thomas Holmstrand designed the booklet. Guitarist
Stefan Elmgren, a former member of Swedish band Hammerfall, and singer Beatrice
Tjärnbro appeared on the album as guest musicians.
In 2009 Thyreos released their debut album Sound of Destruction (by own distribution) which
got great reviews in, among others, Close-Up Magazine and Sweden Rock
Magazine. The same year the band recorded their first official music
video for Sound Of Destruction. The recording mainly took place in a
truck shop in Åtorp, but also on a golf course in Degerfors. Of course
there are also things that explode in the video, a video which was produced by Thomas Tjäder.
The song Dread of Love came to life in 2010, and is now a
classic at any Thyreos concert. In this same year the band signed a
deal for Sound Of Destruction with the record label Sliptrick Records.
Thyreos is now frequently performing and have honored many renowned
clubs and venues with their presence, like Harry B James, Rock In and
Pub Anchor. And the story continues...
