Dayton

Dayton was born on Friday, the 13th of December 1991 in Bad Honnef, Germany. His first touch with electronic music was in 2003 at the age of twelve, when his first computer with internet connection was set up. He listened to masses of dj mixes and livesets in the World Wide Web and finally decided to become a dj himself. During his leisure time, he often experimented with deejay software’s like Traktor or Virtual DJ before he bought two Technics 1210MKII turntables at the age of sixteen. After the first tries on the tables, he soon added a digital DJ controller to his gear to improve his skills in digital deejaying too. In 2007, Dayton started to produce his own tracks influenced by the mau5. The first tries were after a fashion, but he always kept going. Dayton spent hours, playing around with his midi-controllers and producing software, until he finally won the Samsung ‘DJ Your Life’ contest with his track ‘Literise’. (2009) Many Dayton tracks are club oriented progressive house tracks but over the years he created a unique deep, progressive and loungy style. In 2010, Dayton founded the independent label ‘Codus Records’, which already gained a lot of recognition in the scene. Electro, Progressive, Tech and Deep House are distributed by Codus Records even thou the genre don’t really matter. “The main thing is, that the sound is Codish!”, as Dayton once said. Dayton is a relaxed and buoyant person, as we can listen. His unique relaxed sound fascinated a lot of people by now and its quiet sure that there are ton‘s of people out there who want to get fascinated too.
