Mimas

Mimas is a Danish death indie act (in their own words) from Aarhus, Denmark. The band consists of Daniel Malling Beck (guitars, choir), Gert Jørgensen (bass, choir), Lasse Dahl (drums, choir) and Icelandic born Snævar Njáll Albertsson (guitars, vocals and trumpet). In 2005 they released the EP ‘Hands Will Carry’, which earned them a place at the Roskilde Festival. Since then they’ve toured England five times. They went on their first European tour in June 2009 and will follow up with tours in England and other European countries later in the year. The quartet’s sound has been compared with such different bands as Do Make Say Think, Pavement, Why?, Menomena and Mogwai. Mimas have released their debut album ‘The Worries’ in the UK through Big Scary Monsters Recordings and through Distile Records in Europe. The quartet’s sophomore album ‘Lifejackets’ came out in October 2010 to favourable reviews internationally and have been followed by a tour of the UK.
