Bobby Darin是美国五、六零年代时的偶像歌星，走的路与瘦皮猴Frank Sinatra类似，甚至曾被认定是瘦皮猴的接班人。以现在的眼光来看，不管是《Splish Splash》或是《Mack the Knife》都是「老歌」，而且是具有摇摆韵味的老歌。但在当年的角度却有「青少年」V.S.「中老年」之大，而且Bobby Darin在音乐上采取的路线就是「不被人贴标签」，他唱爵士标准曲，也唱流行歌曲，摇滚甚至民谣也样样来。
