自传
他八岁开始学鼓，并自学颤音琴。在1958年他的录音首秀是和Paul Bley Quartet一起录制的。在60年代初，当他和长笛演奏家Herbie Mann一起工作时他将扩音器放在颤音琴上。60年代后期，Pike的音乐更加的具有可探索性，贡献了独特的嗓音，让时代都记住了他的可探索性。1970年和前唱片公司老板Herbie Mann合力制作并通过Atlantic Records的子公司Vortex Records发行专辑《Doors Of Perception》。并且在专辑中探索民谣，模态区域，具象音乐，并带有自由爵士和即兴抒发，其中也有中音萨克斯演奏家Lee Konitz、贝斯手Chuck Israels及钢琴家Don Friedman。
