生活与生涯
出生在宾夕法尼亚州阿尔图纳，Eardley11岁时开始接触小号;他的父亲在Paul Whiteman的乐团演奏。从1946年1949年Eardley在华盛顿特区的Air Force乐队中演奏，然后从1950年到1953年他在自己的四重奏组合D.C.中演奏，1953年他搬到纽约，与Phil Woods（1954年），Gerry Mulligan（1954年-1957年）和Hal McIntyre（1956年）合作。在此之后，他回到了他的家乡演奏直到1963年搬到比利时。1969年，他搬到德国科隆，与Harald Banter和Chet Baker在20世纪80年代一起合作。死亡前的最后几年，他在德国科隆的WDR乐队演出。他在比利时韦尔维耶附近的Lambermont去世。
