David Munyon于1952年8月19日出生在美国罗德岛的纽波特（美国罗得岛之避暑胜地），他是家中五个孩子最小的一个。父亲是美国宇航局的工程师，母亲是牧师的女儿。
David Munyon是歌者、音乐创作者，12岁时已经开始演奏音乐；David Munyon还是作家、词作者、画家、诗人，还经营农场，并低调发行出版了《Autobiography Of A Yogi瑜伽传记》这本书。
