自小在小镇里长大的他小时候最初的目标是加入军队，甚至专门参加过拳击方面的训练。一次他无意间在朋友家听到吉他的演奏，深深入迷。从此开始大量的搜集专辑来听。也就是在这段时间他开始唱并且学习弹吉他。他的祖父，送给他甲壳虫的自传。他用它来买了第一把吉他。随后，他搬到伦敦开始展现他的音乐才华..
