歌手简介：出生于纽约市格林威治村的Alana Davis虽在1997年曾出版首张专辑，不过对多数人而言仍旧陌生，但是Alana对流行音乐自有一套看法“在嘻哈乐界艺人常取样前人的畅销曲，我要做的跟他们不同。”实际上Alana确以自己创作为主，新专辑《Fortune Cookies》中有些歌曲甚至是在录音室写成，这样才够新鲜。其实以创作型歌手而言Alana并不局限某一曲风，所以从I Want You听到跳跃的shuffle音符；When You Became King吟唱方式近似民谣；Bye Bye中的放克之后又回到民谣摇滚，时而像琼妮．蜜雪儿时而又有苏珊．薇格清新脱俗的气质；雷鬼的轻快让Got This Far有著身体摇摆的欲望。 Alana Davis的《Fortune Cookies》专辑推出加上跟随Blues Traveler、Ziggy Marley以及Lilith Fair女性艺人大会串的巡回演唱经验累积，势必为她作曲家兼歌手的音乐路程划一里程碑。

专辑介绍： Alana Davis' debut Blame It On Me delves deep into themes of non-conformity and individualism, presented largely as jazzy lullabies. Though Davis has confessed to not being very hip to the sorority of modern vocalists, she opens the record with a reworking of Ani DiFranco's "32 Flavors." But Davis is no elder stateswoman, either. At 23, the New Yorker is just coming into her own, and the subject matter of her songs shows an artist with a youthful perspective - "The weight of the world has fallen/ and the rubble is at my feet," she sings on The Weight of the World" - even though she has the voice of someone twice her age. It's almost as if she's out to assert her unique place in the circuit of singer-songwriters by returning to the heart and soul that made them so popular in the first place.
