个人经历
他出生在安大略省巴里，在家人定居在安大略省Anten Mills之前在艾伯塔省卡姆罗斯度过。五岁的时候他的家人搬到了艾伯塔省卡姆罗斯，三年后又回来了。Jason在七岁时开始学习弹吉他，在十二岁时写了他的第一首歌。
十几岁时，Jason拥有了一把摇滚吉他，并且喜欢AC/DC。20世纪80年代他加入了乐队Three Quarter Country，在legions，Saturday Night dances及巴里、美联、奥瑞拉和其他小城镇的俱乐部里表演。1988年Jason赢得了多伦多的一次比赛，使得他可以前往那什维尔和Ray Griff一起录制专辑。1995年他签约MCA唱片。
1999年5月1日他与Terrine Barnes结婚。夫妻俩有两个孩子。
2005年至2010年McCoy是乡村摇滚乐队The Road Hammers的成员。他的专辑《Everything》在2011年3月1日发行。
