“Doobie Brothers”成立于1970年的美国加利福尼亚州圣荷西，正处在60年代末摇滚文化爆炸的尾声，“Doobie Brothers”努力寻求一种跨越白人技术摇滚与黑人灵魂乐的节奏组合，继而在70年代成为美国流行摇滚的代表乐队。始终保持8人成员的“Doobie Brothers”原本衍生自另一支迷幻乡村乐队“Moby Grape”。乐队成立不久即被华纳唱片签下合约，1971便推出同名首作。1978年，乐队诞生了蝉联五周的冠军专辑《Minute By Minute》。 随着吉他手Jeff Baxter、鼓手John Hartman相继于70年代末期离团。80年代的杜比兄弟合唱团成为由主唱Michael McDonald领导的乐队，依然成功的保持着发表销售突破百万多的佳作。
