2006年8月MacNeil和Torr以Harris Tweed的名字发行了他们的第一张专辑《The Younger》。2008年，他们更换乐队的名字为Dear Reader。
2008年，MacNeil和Torr录制了他们的第一张专辑《Replace Why With Funny》。不久之后，他们与柏林的独立唱片公司City Slang签约，2009年2月发行了新的专辑。
2010年《Replace Why With Funny》荣膺南非音乐奖最佳英文专辑。
2010年，MacNeil和Torr和平解散，Cherilyn搬到了柏林。
