早年经历
Kevin Mahogany在小时候就开始的学习音乐，学习弹钢琴，后来还学会了演奏单簧管和中音萨克斯，高中时与爵士乐队一起表演以及教音乐。“当我还是个孩子的时候，在我们的生活中音乐与英语和数学是一样重要的”Mahogany说。“事实上对整个家庭来说钢琴课是学校的主要内容为。”Mahogany进入Baker大学，在那里他把乐器和声乐合奏表演，组建了一支声乐爵士乐团。1981年，Mahogany收到音乐和英语戏剧的艺术学位。
从艺经历
80年代毕业后，他回到了堪萨斯城，他与他的乐团表演的《The Apollos》和《Mahogany》吸引了当地的关注。1991年，他在Frank Mantooth的CD中出现。
