Kerry Ellis

Kerry Ellis (born May 6, 1979) is an English singer and stage actress best known for her work in musical theatre both in London's West End and on Broadway. She was raised in Haughley, Suffolk and later attended Laine Theatre Arts School. In 2001, at the age of 21, she made her first professional appearance on stage; marking her West End debut in a recent revival of My Fair Lady where she was secondunderstudy to Martine McCutcheon in the role of Eliza Doolitte. She went on to originate the role of Meat in We Will Rock You and subsequently was cast as Fantine in Les Misérables and Elphaba inWicked in the West End. The latter role, of which, is arguably Ellis' most critically acclaimed and globally praised role to date, with which, led to her debut on Broadway. In March 2010, she joined the cast of Oliver! in Cameron Mackintosh's current London revival; succeeding Jodie Prenger in the role ofNancy. She is to continue to role until the end of the show's run in January 2011. Ellis released her debut album, Anthems, in September 2010.
