Steve Smith歌手简介
Steve Smith is a British house musician most notable for being one of the members of the band Dirty Vegas.
In 1992, Steve auditioned for a band called Higher Ground, and was taken on as a percussionist. Shortly after joining the bands lead singer left, and Steve stepped forward to take his spot.
After the split of Higher Ground, Steve moved from London to Ibiza, where he wrote song called "Days Go By". Shortly after writing this song, he ran into an old friend and DJ, Paul Harris. Paul had been working with a friend named Ben Harris (no relation). The three of them got together and formed the band Dirty Vegas. The song "Days Go By" went on to win a Grammy Award.
After Dirty Vegas' break-up, Steve decided to continue his musical career. He released his first solo album, entitled "This Town" on February 18, 2008. The album was released on Steve's own music label, "G.A.S. Records". He scored the 2007 cult film, "Boys and Girls Guide to getting down" and wrote the 'Emmy' nominated Main-Title Theme for the FOX TV show 'Standoff'. In 2008, Dirty Vegas reformed and got back into the studio once again. "Pressure", "Changes" and "Tonight" which was the IMS Anthem for 2009, were all singles released on Toolroom Records (UK). Steve co-wrote tracks with electronic artists such as Chris Lake, Sultan and Ned Shepard.
April 2011, saw the release of ELECTRIC LOVE, an album that found that elusive sweet spot between the slickly polished electronic sounds of their past and a more decidedly rock edge, deftly balancing beats and guitar-led melodies. Since April 2011, The band headed out on a new US/Canadian Tour and played shows all over the world, in places like India, China, Russia, Jordan, UK, Mexico and Japan.
Fall 2011, the band have just gone to Number 20, on 5Fm South Africa's Top 40 Chart. A new Video for the song, 'Little White Doves' was shot on location in Washington D.C (USA)
