Twin Oaks歌手简介
Twin Oaks is an American dream pop-influenced folk duo led by singer-songwriter Lauren Brown and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Christopher. The pair first began their collaborative efforts in 2009 with a few long-time high school friends before disbanding a year later, leaving all members in pursuit of their own creative efforts. Aaron began writing a batch of songs before starting up Twin Oaks with Lauren two years later.
The band released their first set of songs “Cellar” and “Not An Exit” on July 16, 2012 which quickly garnered attention from UK based webzine GoldFlakePaint just prior to their release. By November 27, 2012, Twin Oaks put out their self-recorded and released Not An Exit EP, a short collection of songs written and recorded in Lauren's apartment. The EP received positive praise from fans with its tracks "Gravity" and "Not An Exit" receiving consistent radio play on UK's Amazing Radio and Croydon Radio.
Twin Oaks self-released their second mini-album "The Lion's Den" on January 7, 2014 with its debut single "Liars & Thieves" (released on October 2013) and their electronic-tinged single "Constellation Lines". The album was recorded in the band's home studio in Chino, CA and was mixed and mastered by Joshua Simmons.
With influences ranging from Mazzy Star, Sharon Van Etten, Nick Drake, and Cat Power to electronic-based contemporaries such as The XX, the Los Angeles-based duo take their contemporary folk influences and blend with etheral, shoegaze inspired electric arrangements to create a more intricate dream folk sound.
