Karoline Hausted

Karoline Hausted started playing the piano at 6, and with the piano as her main instrument she has been influenced by many different musical genres, from classical to world and folk music to synth-pop. As an artist she seeks different paths than one would expect, and her albums have a variety of expression from minimalistic and acoustic flavors to tracks that have a more electronic and atmospheric feel. Karoline Hausted typically records most of her songs on her own, playing keyboards, beats and singing, before turning to the final recording and editing in collaboration with musicians and sound engineers, often across borders. Since her solo-artist debut, Double Silence (2009), she has traveled the world and lived in various places, and in the course of that time she wrote and recorded the album, Drawings (2010). Since 2011, she has called California home, and she has released the album Jeg tror jeg drømmer (2012), with songs in her native Danish tongue. This album earned her nominations for the Danish Music Awards “Track of the Year”, and for The GAFFA Award for “Female artist of the year”.
