Together they are a powerhouse in the Australian music scene. Add Chris Zoupa and James Mileto to the mix and they become the unstoppable musical force known as Melbourne four piece rock act Bellusira. Drawing their name from the Latin meaning ‘beautiful anger’, Bellusira formed in 2009. The moniker describes their sound and philosophy to a tee. There is passion, there is emotion, there is fire. But there is also a unique and fragile beauty, a light shining through the dark, and they always channel their anger into something positive. Crystal’s lyrics draw from the ying and yang concept of the parallels between light and dark, and paint an ever positive picture. A picture of love and a yearning for affirmative change. And all of these traits come across in each of their recorded works and in every show they play. It was this passion and positivity that helped them make an immediate impact in the hearts and minds of rock fans across Australia upon their formation. The years that followed saw them release multiple powerful and well received EPs/singles, create several stunning videos and present their slick but mesmerising live show to packed houses in Melbourne and across the nation with the likes of The Misfits, Dead Letter Circus and Floating Me, and as part of major festivals such as Rock the Bay and Creepshow. It is 2013 that sees the band truly make their mark however. Their debut album Connection is a compelling collection of dynamic rock songs that both devastate with their power and soothe with their beauty. It is an album that will see them take their rightful place amongst the heavyweights of Australian rock, and garner them much deserved international attention.
