1980年，David Tibet、Tony Wakeford、Patric Legas及Douglas P组成了Death In June乐队。Death In June是死亡民谣中最著名的乐队之一。它的著名，不单是因为它开创了这种诡异的音乐形式，还因为从这队乐队中孕育出日后许多著名的死亡民谣乐队。对于整个死亡民谣来说，Death In June就好比是一个雌雄同体的魔鬼，他既用父权的威严建立起死亡民谣阴暗颓废的音乐文化，又用母体的天性生出三个恶魔，继续他/她所建立起的诡异王国。
